Community Safety Skills and Techniques
In the first two parts of this guide we have looked at the legislation and policies that govern community safety, how partnerships operate, and ways in which they can work effectively. Part Three is an introduction to some of the techniques you will use as a community safety practitioner. Whatever your specific role, the techniques included in this part of the guide will be useful to you. By the end of this part, you will have a better understanding of the role of:
- crime and disorder audits and information sharing
- problem solving techniques
- project management
- managing the performance of partnerships and evaluating community safety initiatives.
Each section looks at the principles of the topic, discusses any relevant legislation and guidance, looks at techniques used by practitioners, and gives you the opportunity to consider how they are used in your organisation.
